End of the Year Wrap-up 2002

Dear Friends,

time has flown by as quickly as always, and unbelievably we already have December again. Always a quiet time to reflect upon experiences and occurrences of the past year and to reveal some of the happenings of my own little artistic world to you.

2002 was a special year for me. After three years of extensive travelling it was the first time in my artistic career that I stayed in one place, Munich, for over a year! It was just as challenging as all the travels, since the quest for inspiration occurred within, rather than through stimulation by different places and cultures. I did one major exhibition Under The Surface in June at the Pasinger Fabrik, a cultural center in Munich. The showing of about 25 of my most recent abstract nudes was a great success.

After the summer, which I partly spent in Lisbon (almost a tradition now), I started to work on a series of abstract mixed media works on paper. Through intuitive and spontaneous form abstractions, I focused on the hidden, profound. I used blending structures and scattering textures as my main elements of visual communication; yet the subject of my recent works is still the revelation of some of the profound human emotions. See for yourself if you get inspired by my new approach.

Now at the end of the year I couldn't resist escaping the German cold into warmer regions– therefore I am staying in India for two months, before returning to Germany by the end of January. Wherever you are at the moment, I wish you a great holiday season and a happy new year filled with joy, health and happiness!
